Safety Coordinator

We are currently seeking a motivated Safety Coordinator to join our Company. Sparks Maintenance Contracting LLC is based out of Bowling Green, MO. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership, innovation, and implementation of the company’s safety program in compliance with all applicable federal, state, local laws, customer requirements and the company’s vision, mission, and values for a safe workplace. The primary responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead an Executive review of the overall company safety performance
  • Conducts all incident investigations and root-cause analysis, track and report trends and lessons learned, recommend and implement any corrective actions and improvements
  • Supervise, review and support of on-site Safety Coordinators
  • Thorough knowledge and implementation of all Federal, State, and Local laws, customer requirements, and corporate culture regarding workplace safety, including record keeping
  • Conduct project and crew Safety Audits; track trends and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure Pre-Task Planning Execution, Track and Audit crew execution, implement corrective actions, and revise program as necessary
  • Review and update corporate safety strategy and policies to reduce exposure and incidents with our employees
  • Review and Update Corporate Safety Program annually and as required
  • Understand trends, innovations, and changes in the industry and prepare the company in advance for timely implementation.
  • Develop and implement training and certifications as required for employees
  • Provide technical assistance to office and field operations to understand and comply with our policies, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Implement, review, revise and coordination of Employee Safety Orientation program
  • Coordinate Training Programs by outside vendors

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Health and Safety Coordination experience (preferably in the maintenance/construction field)
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA standards and OSHA 510 certified
  • Experience with conducting and reporting Safety investigations
  • Familiarity with emergency medical procedures and coordination
  • Must have the ability to work independently and with little supervision
  • Thorough understanding of all federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Thorough understanding of environmental regulations, including but not limited to SWPP & HAZMAT
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures essential
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills also required, including ability to work as a member of a team
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
